Worship
At this time, worship experiences at St. John are lead by ordained Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod pastors that have retired from full time church work. The Lutheran Service Book is predonimantly used. The music is more traditional using the organ and keyboard for accompanieament.
Weekly Activities
LEAP School
The LEAP School rents the school building at St. John. Students attending the LEAP School must be referred by their local public school administration. Their school serves children/youth from elementary grades through high school.
Al Anon
Al-Anon members are people just like you who are worried about someone with a drinking problem. Family members have the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others who have faced similar problrms. The Al-Anon group meets Mondays at 12:30 p.m.
Youth Basektball and Youth Center
Care and support for the young people of Garfield Heights and surrounding communities has long been part of St. John Lutheran Church. Presently the doors are open for youth to play basektball in the gym and spend time playing ping pong fooseball, shooting pool or praying other games in the Youth Center. This opportunity is Thursday evenings. Parents must come the first time to fill out a registation form for their son or daughter.
