The St. John Lutheran Cemetery located across Granger Road from the church is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from  8 a.m. – 5 p.m. For entrance at other times contact the church  office 216-587-4222

Our Worship Leaders are ordained pastors of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod or men who are leaders in the St. John congregation.  All strive to share the Gospel Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ and lead worship giving praise and thanks to God for His many blessings. 

If you’ve been part of the 170 year history of St. John, you have some great memories.  There are two things that you can do!

1.  Write them down and send them in.  Be sure to include      names and dates along with the event.  OR

2.  Plan to come October 12 and 13 to spend some time and share those great St. John stories in person!                                                                                                                                                                                                              

St. John Ev. Lutheran Church will be celebrating it’s 170th Anniversary the weekend of October 12 – 13, 2024.  The actuale date of the first worship service was in October 1854.

 On Saturday, October 12, there will be a reunion picnic.  Sunday, October 13, we will gather in the sanctuary for worship at 9 a.m. with a special message from the LCMS Ohio District President Kevin Wilson.

Saturday, October 12, 3 p.m. REUNION PICNIC on the church grounds, tickets $10 per person

Sunday, October 13, 9 a.m. CELEBRATION WORSHIP, BRUNCH to follow also at St. John.  The Brunch tickets are $25 per person.

The GYM and YOUTH CENTER will open again after Labor Day! Those who have come in the past will be pleasantly surprised to see some positive changes!

We will officially open on Thursday, September 5 for all youth who have their forms filled out and signed by a parent.  Parents may come any evening to fill out a form.  This is only necessary the first time their young person attends.  The times are:  5:30 – 7 p.m. for those in 4th – 8th grades and 7:30 – 9 p.m. for those attending high school.  Youth may come from Garfield Heights and any surrounding communities.

A PARENT MUST COME AND SIGN FOR ANY YOUTH – EVEN IF THE YOUNG PERSON HAS TURNED 18.  The parent only need come the first time to fill out paperwork.

ROOM RENTAL  St. John has some space that might be rented for a bridal or baby shower or another special occasion.  The price for rentals vary.  If you’re in need of a space for that special celebration, contact the church office 216-587-4222 or email: sjlutheran@att.net
